Pleural Plaques

The National Helpline for Pleural Plaques Register We are always here to help.

Pleural Plaques National Register
At the National Asbestos Helpline we have established a national register for pleural plaques sufferers exposed in England and Wales.

What are pleural plaques?
Plaques are small, localised areas of fibrosis caused by exposure to asbestos fibres, found within the pleura of the lung. The presence of pleural plaques is an indicator that a person has been exposed to asbestos.

Why join the register?
Joining the Pleural Plaques National Register enables us to provide you with updates to our services as well as the latest news and information.

Support Services
As a member of the register you will also have access to an extensive range of support services offered through our charitable partners.

Managing your health
If you feel that your condition has deteriorated or changed since your original diagnosis, please visit your GP. We will happily reassess your case and provide direct support and advice if your condition has changed.

Pleural Plaques in Scotland
Sufferers exposed in Scotland are, at this time, eligible to make a compensation claim. Please call us if you feel this applies to you.
